Since my diagnosis last year, I've been taking Azacol three, three times a day. I've recently stared experiencing a flare and my doctor change my medication to Colazal three, thee times a day. I tried that for about ten days and that didn't really take so, my doctor had decided to put me on 40 mg of Prednisone a day.. well, I started that treatment yesterday at about 7 PM. This morning I woke up kind of feeling yucky like I normally do. Then, I got a headache, sweats, fever, shakes, and I was vomiting. I'm feeling a lot better now so, I don't think it was the flu and I really don't think it was a part of my flare up because I've never been affected in such a matter. I'm leaning towards blaming the Pred. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar?
Thanks for your feedback!!!

Pred has many side effects, what you're experiencing sounds like some of it. It could be that you're body is reacting to the drug, although for me it wasn't the same way - several weeks before side effects. Check with your doctor.

I was put on 30mg Pred on July 18, my diagnosis date, and didn't feel a thing...I was going to the bathroom too much for it to stay in me.  On July 24 doc bumped it up to 40mg.  Still no effect because of it not staying in my system.  July 31 doc put me on codeine and BOOM!  August 1, I felt jittery, sweating, you name it.  I know the codeine was helping because he put me on it to stop the diaherrea.  He then bumped pred back to 30mg.  I can now say with taking the codeine and all I am jittery at times, wake up sweating, nauseaus when going to the restroom, etc.  So I would bet it is the pred, but no doc here.

Kanditron, I feel for you my friend!  When I was diagnosed, I was also put on 40mg Prednisolone (Prednisone) and the effects were immediate.  I only slept 3 or four hours each night; could jog much further than usual; lost 14 pounds in fat/muscle; and was essentially, just, hyperactive.
