Has anyone had a bad experience with Canasa suppositories? Any bad side effects/reactions?
Thinking about starting them tonight....
18 years old
Diagnosed with UC in July 2006
Currently flaring
Prednisone 10mg (tapering 5mg a week), Imuran (125mg/day), Folic Acid, Iron, Potassium, Citracal, Aloe Vera juice,Fish Oil,Healthy Trinity Probiotic, Sulfasalazine, First Remicade infusion 4/25/07-4 treatments to date

I have never had any troubles at all with Canasa. The only thing that seems to bother me on occasion is the morning after, I might get some rectal numbness but that can be a good thing! :) I use them as needed to keep my rectal flares under control and they work pretty well.
Left sided Uc since '92 - meds - Colazal, Canasa (when needed), 6MP (50-75mgs), Forvia, Biotin (IN REMISSION - sort of!)
Secondary Raynauds Syndrome '04  - meds - Norvasc
Fibromyalgia '06 - no meds
Severe seasonal allergies - meds - Allegra

I did not have a bad experience with Canasa. It actually helped a lot. i had to take it everyday for 3 weeks. It helped during those three weeks. i was okay (not great) the 4th week (first week off) and then by the 2nd week off i was back to normal (7-10 bms a day). It did not have a lasting affect on me but it did certainly help when i was taking it.
Diagnosed with Pan Colitis 2004 (age 23).
Asacol 12 per day
Prednisone, off 2006
6mp 75mg per day (got off becuase I am starting Remicade)
Canasa when needed
Remicade second infusion Aug 21st
