Hello,

Well I have been in this flare up for months now. Imuran seems to have stopped working Remicade is the next step.

I have thalsema (Not sure how its spelt it) so I can't take iron pills to help

with the tiredness.

Anyone else going through this?

I don't work because of my colitis so I don't set my alarm to get up each morning, maybe i should though.

Any surgestions on how to up my immune system? I am sick of being

so darn tired. I could sleep for days. I force myself to get up each

day. I don't want to sleep my life away.

Its depressing me badly.

Any help would be wonderful.

Thanks for listening :-)

I started on Remicade in January and finally I'm not as burnt out anymore. I no longer get up 10 times a night. I'm still tired but nothing like before. Just remember that Remicade lowers your imune system. Its working for me and I have my life back again which is really nice.

I had sever fatigue for 18monts in and out of remission. I started on Lialda July 5, and by July 15 the fatigue lifted like a heavy blaket around me. I get tired but not to the extnet that I looked forward to passing my bed to just lay down for awhile.

My GI says fatigue is part of the disease process when flairing. It just robs you of energy.

I was diagnosed with UC earlier this year.  I am now back at work full time and it was fine for a few weeks.

Last week i noticed i was virtually unable to keep my eyes open and it lasted for about 4 days.  I noticed my joints were more achy than usual and i was getting restless legs when i went to bed.  The tiredness is the hardest to take because i never nap during the day, but it was all i seemed to do.  I have episodes of feeling fine, then out of the blue i get so tired, just the thought of washing a single dish is out of the question.

The doctor said it is part and parcel of UC and said i was having a flare.  Sometimes i do feel a little nauseous with it too and i know when i am having a flare because my stomach and my mouth feel different.

I hope you feel better real soon.  I have started taking Omega 3 fish oil capsules and they are helping with the joints and the tiredness.

Oh man,,i'm always tired. But when i go to my doc for remicade infusions,,he usually does vitamins thru an iv rite after,,like 2 packs..So yea ask ur doc about vitamin shots/iv,,or any type of vitamins that u can take over the counter. I know how u feel. Tiredness and the bathroom thing really makes me feel like i have no life..i hardly ever wanna go outside..good luck.

Thanks so much everyone for your responses. Its so great to have

everyone on here to talk too. Its been hard for me this past months again. To know I can come here and we all talk about it. Makes me

feel better.

I will ask my doctor about vitiams also when I see him on Sept 11th.

Its like you are so burnt out you want to crawl in a ball all day. Then

you want to attempt to go out and do something then you have

an accident. Its just horrible. I get so sick of being sick.

Thanks again everyone :-)
