I talked to a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic who did a study on them and tried one himself before giving them to his patients to try.  He said if you are a non-smoker, they will make you really ill (queasy and light-headed and so on).

Yuck I am a former smoker. Did he say that it ever got better?

So I don't see how using the gum or patches can even work

I tried it but like others have said it made me very light headed and felt sick, effects just as if smoking for the first time in ages.

I am a non-smoker and I tried nicotine patches to try and get into remission.

It was a complete disaster.  I felt REALLY sick for hours and then I vomited - violently.

And no, it did nothing for my UC symptoms!
