Hey guys! Just curious to see if you are doing anything fun for Labor Day. We have been in our new house 4 months now....we got so lucky that we have great neighbors with kids almost the same age as our son. We are having them over for a cookout! I may splurge and have a big glass of red wine!!!

We are going to an interactive comdey show for a friends birthday this saturday, that should be fun. Other than that I am spending the weekend (as I have this since last week) trying to clean up the flood damage at my parents house. The storms knocked out their electricity last week and they were out of town. So it is up to me to clean up. Luckily they will be home tomorrow and get to help for the weekend. I am calling it family fun clean sweep style. We are using this opportuinity to go through the 30 years of junk in the basement and throw it all out!!!! Doens't sound like fun...and your right....but it needs to be done.

I'm flying down to southern California for my great nieces 1st birthday party. All the families get together and we have a great time (about 50 people!) My friend said....all that for a 1st birthday? And I said that my family always likes a good reason to get together! :-) It's a total blast. But my poor niece whose hosting the party told me she's expecting again! Yikes, huh? She has a 1 yr. old, and a 2 1/2 yr. old.

Tabitha -- have to tell you that I can drink the Italian red wines like Chianti with no problems. But Merlot or anything else totally gets me. I usually go to a Cost Plus or Trader Joe's and get their Italian wine.

KB5 -- the comedy show sounds like fun. Your poor parents; what a nightmare it must be for them to have to clean out the flood water. I'm not sure where you are located since there has been so much flooding going on, but I hope they are doing okay.

Take care everyone and enjoy the looooong weekend! :-)

I'm flying to Newfoundland Saturday morning at 6:00am. We're going for my brother's wedding Sept. 6th at Cape Spear, Newfoundland and decided to go early and tour around a bit since we've never been before.  Luckily I am almost in remission because I don't know how I would have survived that 6:00am flight a month ago!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

A barbecued lamb on my grill in the country with a wonderful belgian ale and the most beautiful woman in the world (sorry ladies - I am sure you are all gorgeous - but I have my princess fiona!).  I have a pink champagne for her (her fav).  And I am making an Italian cornmeal rosemary cake for desert.  That will be on Sunday - back to burgers on Monday! hehehehe

Love and safe weekend to all,

I'm leaving on Friday to go up north to the cottage again. It should be interesting this time around. We are going to have 15 people there! Think 900 sq ft house with one bathroom! lol But it should be fun.

My son is coming up from So. California for a visit!!! I haven't seen him since January when he flew up here to watch me drag race.. (I Lost in the first round)... LOL... We'll probably just go tearing it up on quads someplace and go horseback riding down to the lake and swim... Or, depending on how we feel, we'll just veg here at the house and catch up on stuff.... I'm just SO HAPPY to be seeing him again!!!!! WOO HOO!!!

I'm going hiking with my friends and probably hit the Appalachian trail. Get the hell out of this sick world we live in for the day. Just us and nature, the way it was meant to be.
