It's me, Jackie, and I am finally able to give ya'll some sort of update-ish type deal.

As most of you may or may not already know, I have not been doing so well with the whole ulcerative colitis deal.

On July 25th at about 8:00 p.m., my grandmother forced me to go to the ER because I had a temperature of about 104.2 and she began to like wigg out and stuff. [totally understandable since I am her favorite and all that jazz]

I was admitted at like 4:30 a.m., on July 26th. I was at the hospital from the 26th to about the 31st. I had to get one unit of , my pressure dropped due to a pain medication they were giving me, they gave me (I think thats right) for pain instead, it was all pretty weird. I had to get a CAT scan or something of my abdomen. My intestines are inflamed.

I was put back on prednisone and I began mesalmine enemas. I seem to be doing better, but eh theres good days and bad days.

Urggg, I have a colonscopy scheduled for October 2nd, just so the doctor up here(New York) can see my insides for himself.

I have also began seeing a doctor that deals with Natural Health and Wellness and he has put me on some probotics.

I am taking LactoFlamX, EPA-DHA 6:1™ Enteric-Coated, and Ultrainflamx 360, (which is a medical food type thing).

I have only been doing the probotics for a couple of days but I really hope and believe that I will get my butt into remission!!!!

Oh, and I have been diagnosed with some food allergies as well.
-Whey
-Milk
-Yogurt
-Almond
-Gluten
-Wheat
-Spelt
-Egg White
-Egg Yolk

and get this ya'll, I am allergic to SUGAR CANE. (ahhhhhhh!)

I have decided that it is time to grow up and start taking control of my disease and not let it rule my life anymore. I am eighteen, legally an , I need to act responsible and 'be an for once.'

I do not get on the computer as much as I use to, so forgive me for not getting back to posts and things like that.

Peace and Love.

Hi Jackie.it's good you had testing done and are meds to help get the inflammation down.

I hope you continue to feel better each day now that you're taking supplements as well.

Hi, Jaque!

Glad you checked in. It sounds like our ' little girl ' Is growing up.

To be allergic to sugar! uggh!

I'm sure you will feel better when you can avoid the foods you are allergic to, but it sounds like it will be hard to learn.

I am lactose intolerant, and it took a while to get around what I can no longer eat, but you get used to it.

Keep in touch, girl.

Merry

Jackie it sounds like you have a great positive attitude. That'll get you through much in life. I think we all approach this at various levels based on our level of sickness and present state of mind, but I like you like to be positive and keep hope alive that with trying different things and doing what we know we should we can improve our condition. I know some however have it bad and it's just a tough disease to deal with. Thanks for the update.

New York huh? I bet your friends are missing you like crazy! Are you still living there or are you back in the old home state? I'm sorry that you had to deal with this but your right...the sooner you take resposibility for your own health the more in control you will feel and hopefully heal.

Take care, keep in touch and be well :)
