Hi all,

I've been taking Imuran for almost 4 months now, and for the last couple of days I've been breaking out in hives. I've read that hives can be a side effect of the drug. Should i be worried?

Hi..I would be if it were me. Especially since you're on immunosuppressant meds.

Where are you getting them?

Have you taken an antihistamine?

I would call the doc if he has a 24 hour emergency #.

There are so many different triggers for Hives that i would not be overly worried. But i would want to find the trigger. My daughter has chronic Urticaria and there are so many things that trigger her rashes that she has to take anti histamines every day. Get on the phone to your doc and see what they think.

I'm getting them on my chest and neck, and on my hips. I've been taking Benedryl for them. It helps, but then they start itching again as soon as it wears off.

It could be the sulfasalazine:

or

the famotidine:

If you can't get a hold of the doctor...maybe stop at least the famotidine and see if you improve.

The "game's a foot Watson!".
