about 3 weeks ago, i started noticing what i guess is a rash.  it started on my legs and has now traveled everywhere except my face.  i am not completely covered, but it is very bothersome.  it looks like small red spots, some have a white head some itch a little but most don't.  i've been checked for rocky mountain spotted fever, but negative.  my doc says it's not scabies, isn't a hair follicle infection, since my palms are covered, doesn't look like anything else and he doesn't know what else it could be.  between him and my GI, they have just come to the conclusion that it must be activation of my UC.

any insight or info?

I had an all over rash not too long ago and it disappeared as mysteriously as it appeared. I have no clue as to why I got it because I didn't change a thing. Have you tried any antihistamines? Do they help? What about new lotions or soaps? Any changes to the foods you eat or any new symptoms beside the rash? Any new medications?

gela...definitely call the doctor asap. It sounds like "red man syndrome" from the vancomycin. Do a search, call the doctor.

How long have you been taking Asacol for? It cold be a reaction from the red dye used in the Asacol.

ah....regardless, call the doctor, for it's not "normal" for you to have a rash all over your body. He at least can get you tested, etc. and it will be documented.
