I've been to the G.I. Doctors for the past 3 months.

I have normal bowel movements I go once or twice a day and that's it.

I noticed that there is blood on the surface of my stool but not in it, because I had a fecal blood test with my G.I. doctor and said It was perfect normal.

but now, I get kinda tired or fatigued and I've lost 27 pounds in 3 months.

Everyone I know has told me I've gotten thin.

I have been diagnosed with Mild Gastritis so I take Protonix 40mg once a day.

When I go for a bowel movement it feels like there is a tear on the inside of the rectum, which was there after I pasted a hard stool a few months back.

could this be U.C. or unlikely?

thanks,
Dave

The only true way to know if you have Uc is to have a colonoscopy. Have you had one of these yet? It sounds to me that the bleeding can still be from the tear. Do you ever have abdominal pain or unexplained fevers?

To Red:

nope, my GI was thinking about it though. I have a follow-up with him on Tuesday. I will tell him about it.
no fevers, and I don't have much abdominal pain. maybe a stomachache once in a while.
and the blood comes and goes.

like i'll go now and there will be some specks of blood, but in a few days it will be gone.
I'm most definitely sure the bleeding is from the tear just a little pass my rectum.

To Harpo:
I understand that's a lot of weight and it scares me, but i'm pretty sure the weight loss has been from me not eating sugary foods or drink caffeinated drinks.
I was huge on that.

I'm only 20 years old. but I guess it can happen to anyone.

I will let you know how it turns up on Tuesday when I go to see my GI.
