Nancy,

My suggestion would be to find a GI in New York City, that is where the best GIs are located in the tri-state area. Most of the top GIs in NYC are associated with Mount Sinai; they have a GI ward there and most of the top clinical trials participate with Mount Sinai.

Here's a New Jersey doc I've seen recommended on another IBD site:

Dr. Schuman, Affiliates in Gastroenterology, 101 Short Hills Rd. West Orange, NJ 07052, tel: 973-731-4600.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999
Possibly misdiagnosed

Maintenance dose sulfasalazine
Probiotics, l-glutamine and fish oil caps

6 MP - one a day.
Remicade - every eight weeks.

Thanks everybody.

Will look into these doctors. I thought of going to New York to Mt. Sinai also. It would be a good excuse to stay overnight and enjoy the town. I lived there for years and miss a lot about it.
