Hi gang. I am back from Ireland (the trip was good - lots of fun and no UC problems, thankfully), and just received my copy of a new cookbook just published this month specifically about cooking with IBD (as opposed to IBS). I haven't looked at it yet, so I don't know if it is good, but for those of you like me who enjoy cooking, I wanted to at least pass on the info. The book is called "How to cook for Chron's and Colitis" by Brenda Roscher. Though I can't vouch for this cookbook, I do have other IBS books I can recommend, if anyone is interested. Just let me know.

Glad your trip went well and you had no problems with uc. My son has been to Ireland twice and he really enjoyed it. I have saw alot of pictures from there and there is alot of pretty places there.So much to see.

im not so sure about the diet/food thing for colitis. i guess everyone is different, but i had a dietician for a while and was on so many different types of diets including those terrible liquid foods (to give my colon 'a rest') etc... and i tell you what - my colitis never got worse or improved due to the food i ate. i had 2 weeks on a no fiber/low residue diet and after that with no change in my condition --> i eat what i want when i want. i figure, if its gonna hurt anyway, i might as well enjoy my food cuz i really like good food.
i do know people that are affected by food, so i guess it is trial and error. good luck with the cookbook.
