Hi I have been taking my Asocal religiously and my bleeding from my most recent flare up has stopped but I am still expereiencing bowel control (urgency/accident) issues and some runny stools. Any suggests?

Are you still using the enemas?

You could consider to use a fibre supplement to bulk up the stool (it'll absorb the excess water from runny stools)

No I haven't been using the enamas sense the blood was gone. Do you think those will help? I will start taking my fiber supplement again and see if that helps as well.

Thank you,
Melissa

Hi

In regards to your bowel control/urgency I would check your diet.  Too much sugar, nuts, corn for example could bring on urgency problems.  When I cut out alot of sugar in my diet the urgency stopped.  Its worth a try.. and individual for everyone.

Good luck

You're having the urgency/control because of the rectal inflammation (since that'e where you'll have the first inklings of inflammation in a flare).

Since you haven't been using them, even tapered to maintenance...I'd suggest you start them again nightly. As soon as you start to feel normal..continue them nightly for a few more days to a week and then go to every two nights.
