It could be that your body is finally absorbing the calories it needs. When I flare, I lose weight rapidly and I have to force myself to eat to keep the weight on even though it hurts terribly. But when I'm in remission and not going to the bathroom several times a day, then I am more able to retain what I eat and keep the nutrients and calories. Plus too, when you are flaring, your body is in hypermode. It depends on the individual but some people digest food at a super high rate, not allowing the body to absorb the nutrients as easily. Most normal peoples transit time is 24-48 hours, for me it's 8-12 hours (I did a food experiment once - ate some corn to see how fast it goes thru my system) but of course transit time also depends on the foods we eat. Like meats take longer to digest and the transit time is longer then lets say a really cooked vegetable or liquids. Are you actively flaring right now or are you doing better?

Oh and I forgot to mention that if you have rapid weight loss or gain in a day, it could be water retention.

How long have you been on Forvia? Do you take 2 or 1? I don't think that the Forvia can cause weight gain because it's just a vitamin. But if it's making you feel better then hey keep at it! :)

i've lost heaps of weight since this last flare up. went from 145lbs to 108lbs. i now, 8 months later, fluctuate between 108 and 110 lbs. i can now eat a lot more but it doesnt stick. even prednisone wont give me weight gain.
i was on sustagen for awhile to give me my nutrients as i was flushing them all down the toilet =)

please let me know how forvia works for you. i am interested in trying it.
have you seen results? do you feel better?

Kazygirl, I have been on Forvia for about a year or so and I can honestly say that this vitamin has done wonders for my overall wellbeing. I was on multivitamins in the past but I always felt icky like I didn't have no energy and that run down feeling. After being on Forvia for about 3 months I realized that icky feeling was gone. When I started it I was flaring and on 2 a day but now that I'm feeling better I don't need the 2 anymore just 1. I absolutely love Forvia! It didn't cause any weight gain for me but that's ok, just the fact that it made me feel better is worth it.
