Hello

My doctor recommended Sudefed PE for draining my sinuses. I have a bad headache and pressure is bad. I have taken it before b/4 UC and was fine with it. Do you think now it will be fine?

Old hat, ya know I stopped the meds b/c i thought it was making me sick, but now it was probably my sinuses. The dizziness probably came from the sinuses. I just get so scared of side effects. Now I'm on my 3rd back on colozal and I still have blood, it will take a while again for the meds to kick in right?  I was only off it for 3 days. I'm my own worst enemy sometimes, I know. I just struggle with medication.

Thanks,

Linda

Yes, you are your own worst enemy if you go off the UC meds!!!!! Recognizing this as a problem should help you to get back on track. Do it!!!!! Take care of it with 5-ASAs and be glad for every day you don't have to go on steroids or stronger stuff. RE SudafedPE -- my experience is limited to regular Sudafed for nasal decongestion. My gastro advised to take a dose before bedtime when suffering-- because it's important for UCers to get enough sleep nightly, but to try surviving w/o decongestant pills during the day, to use a saline spray or Afrin, if absolutely necessary. This has been helpful advice for me, on the cautious side, because I did get a "rebound" effect from liquid decongestants once & that was really scary! I would say treat the SudafedPE with respect, drink plenty of water, & hopefully it will get your worst sinus symptoms to subside w/o troubling your intestines. Not being able to breathe through the nose + feeling headachy is a royal nuisance ... hope you get over it soon. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC; currently on 3 X 3 Colazal daily for July flare in descending colon; should be back in remission soon)

I'm back on for sure! I'm taking my Colozal, whole food supplements, praying and using my faith, that's all I know. GOD is working in my favor.  I'm going to Florida on October 3rd for vacation, so I want to be "confident" by then. I sold our biggest house yesterday that has been on my shoulders like a ton of bricks, I feel relieved. No more worries for me.Thanks Oldhat :-)

For those who don't mind churchy stuff this is a good saying:

When satan comes knocking at your door, kindly say "Jesus can you answer that?

Here's a good one:

I'm a Victor not a Victim (of this disease)

Thank you. My boss is so happy too. That was such a load to carry for 2 yrs. People would over and over had it been sold yet, that get very old and troublesome. Troubles no more! Thanks Oldhat you're cool to chat with!
