Okay,

I have not taken my Colazal in over 1 year.  I was suppose to take 3 pills 3x's per day.   I was also taking prednisone and slowly coming of it.  I then got an infection in my leg on Dec 16, 2005.   Ended up in hospital etc........

Anyway about May - July of 2006 I stopped taking the Colazal  -  I did  not see the point - I was still having bad D,

It was to the poing around Thanksgiving that I was afraid to leave the house, so my primary sent me to de a phys (spelling??)

I have been on Xanax XR 2 mg per day and that has helped my panic of leaving the house, I would get an urgency when I stepped outside to get in the car.  ( but be okay in the house -  still having D )

Anyway, I have been taking bulking fiber, calcium, iron and the Xanax XR  -  I am sometimes okay - sometime not.

Can have a normal bm one minute then the next time strait D with mucus -  I have not seen much blood at all the last month.

( I know my hubby does not get it that I am excited when I have a formed bm  -  then it is like pure wonder when it is even one of any size  -  but hay -  you guys do)

So here is my question - should I go ahead and start taking the Colazal or wait until I see him on the 25th.  ~   after reading and reading and reading on this form - the Colazal is for maintenance but also to help me get to remission - only have maybe 4 normal bms per day - not the 10+

I am so upset my last GI did not tell me 1/5 of what I have learned on here.

I did not start having bad d and pan-king until I started going of predinsone.   ( they think the predinsone might be what caused me to get the huge infection - now whole in my leg )

so should I take it or not in your opinion.

I think I am at about 6 or 7 now.
