both are good, flax helps with fibre and fish helps with inflammation, take both.

pb4, what do you mean flax helps with fiber? You mean if it has lignans in it?

There are no studies explicitly testing flaxseed oil and colitis that I am aware of (they may have slipped under my radar under the terms Essential Fatty Acids). However, I have had great improvements taking flax every day.

Fish oil has mixed result-- non enteric fish oil will do little to nothing for colitis. Enteric-coated MAY help, and I take it every day.

Both have loads of other benefits, not to mention calories. I also take coconut and olive oil daily and have been doing better lately than ever, so I know that at least in the short term, they don't hurt and possible help.

good luck!

Actually yes, I should have clarified that although flax seed oil is an excellent add to anyones regime, it is actual flax seed that has benefits for fibre in ones diet/regime...I suggest you take both flax seed, oil and fish oils (omegas 3-6-9).

Flax Seed is High in Fiber: You’d be hard-pressed to find a food higher in fiber -- both soluble and insoluble -- than flax. This fiber is probably mainly responsible for the cholesterol-lowering effects of flax. Fiber in the diet also helps stabilize blood sugar, and, of course, promotes proper functioning of the intestines.
