How long does it take for Imuran to completely get out of your system? Do I need to ween?

I have been on 100mg of Imuran for 7 months and am going to ween off of it. I don't agree with why I went on it in the first place, when asacol was fine. My husband and I are going to TTC in a few months and my GYNO thinks I need to be off of it before trying. My colon is completely healed and has been since March. I plan on staying on a high dose of alsacol during pregnancy.

Thanks for your advice.

I'm pretty sure you don't need to wean off it and the literature says that most people that stop Imuran/6mp, within a 2 week period can start seeing symptoms returning. You really should talk to your GI about all this though.
