Can anyone recommend ways to manage joint pain - meds or other means? I thought there was a post on here recently, but I did a search and it's not anywhere to be found. My joint pain has increased now since I've increased my asacol. It's usually in my knees and my hands (especially after a long day of typing and writing).

Thanks!

Hmmm I tried finding that post too and couldn't. I get the same pains in the same places, mostly my knees and hands. What I do for my hands is use Joint-ritis cream (non smelly) and rub my hands real good with it until it soaks in and then slip them into those gloves made for crafters (which can be found at most craft stores). And for my knees, I use heating pads or the Joint-ritis cream again. Plus too Tylonel seems to take the edge off the pains.

Knees and hips for me. Especially if I am on pred. I take tylenol and use heating pads. Really warm baths help me too. Oh and exercise helps loosen things up when it is really bad.

I also use 'Tiger-balm' and heating pads. My doc once prescribed vioox, a tiny amount only when it was unbearable. I guess now we can only take tylenol.
