New GI has me starting Lialda & Canasa suppositories.

Who takes it?   And how long before you saw any happy signs of getting better.   I have not been having much blood or mucus   &  my BM's have been staying under 10 per day.

I am not taking any meds from the doctor, but other stuff.  I just cant seem to get all the way better.

Hi!  I've been on Lialda for 18 weeks now and if I think back to that time, it was terrible!  about a week after Lialda, the urgency had stopped, bleeding and frequent D (from 15X per day to 2-4), as well.  I've had a few ups and downs since then, but nothing like when I was first diagnosed and going all the time with blood, cramping, etc.  I was one of my GI's firsts to go on it, too.  I hope it continues to work well for you!

Hey, there!  What is your diagnosis?  I hope I didn't worry you with my profile and the increase in meds.  I had a very stressful July and I flared in late July and went on 4 Lialda for that. Then had a sinus infection for which I took an antibiotic that made me have worse D than when I was diagnosed with pancolits and ended up on prednisone on 9/16/07. I would like to think it was the antibiotic and menstrual changes, although my GI does not share that same viewpoint.

I really like the Lialda and how it is once a day and it worked so quickly and I love that I can make it through the entire day at work with no urgency or D; just a little time in the bathroom upon getting up.  However, after that first week of Lialda, I had no more no cramping or blood (unless it is that time of month/flare) and regular bm's (soft, but not D). I hope you do well on it, too!! Keep us posted!!

It's good to hear these successes with Lialda. I just started Lialda this morning, it was weird not taking my 2 pm dose of Colazal. The Colazal helped me but never completely. I have been reading lots of posts here that people do well on Lialda. Hope I'm one of them!
