Okay, I am suppose to use the Canasa suppositories 2xs per day

but here is the ???

morning are my busy times in the bathroom -  can I wait until about 10 or 11  --

it says you are to wait 3 hours before having a BM

How any one with UC knows when the next urge will hit is beyond me but I am trying........

I still dont really get what they are suppose to do.

Quincy is the rectal meds expert, but for me, they do help with the urgency, blood and inflammation. Take them they work well.

Yes, you can put it in after all your bms in the morning.
Regarding the time..some people have bms in the afternoon, in the evening..etc. so,it's stated so that one has it in the rectum enough time to get some of the med benefit.

You can use them up to 3 times a day...so if you poo one out after an hour or so, insert another one.
The only problem with conistently doing that is your prescription will run out quicker...so make sure your doctor has given you enough refills.

Hope they work for you.

Suppositories reduce the inflammation in the rectum. I sometimes use mine the morning too after the busy time and then at night depending on my symptoms.

does anyone jsut take rectal meds and no oral meds? How do I know when I need to swich oral meds. I did mess up for 4 days out of the past 8 weeks, my urgency is less, the blood is less, but still not great. When do you say it's time to switch? I have asacol and a lot left over, I thought about going back to that. It helped me the first time 3 years ago and in 6 weeks with rectal meds the uc was in remission. I quit b/c the doctor said ok. Do I have to call my GI and let her know? I have a great GI but you can't get into see her for months!
