Hi Marty - hows your Uc been behaving with these hospital runs? I hope it's giving you a break so you can care for Beth. Hope you and your wife can finally take a deep breath......so is Beth home or she in the hospital?

She is here with us, we are never apart. She's doing a lot better. I'm not too good, but i'll be grand. I just have been so busy with Beth that my own health has been suffering. But i'm not too worried, i've been worse. Stupid Fibro flare causing me more hassle than i need right now.I'm also off the cigarettes since Monday. I made a promise that i would do it for my kids.I've been on that new drug Champix. So far so good, no bad cravings at all.I know it may not be a good time to do it, but i'm going to do it.

Hey Marty,
I hope that Beth is feeling better. Quiting smoking is hard, but hang in there. Take care of yourself and little Beth. My prayers are with you

quiting smoking is one of the hardest things to do especially when your stressin. I think it was right up there with giving up caffeine. But anything that will keep me on this earth for a few years longer has gotta be worth it.

Hi Marty...healing and caring thoughts for you and Beth. I hope that quitting smoking has eased the worries of your children..it's stressful for them to see you suffering....it's good that the med is helping with your cravings.

She's doing ok. She was having sudden drops in her blood pressure, which is being investigated again by the cardiologists. She had a Myocardiatis at 8 months and she is 4 now, this is the first time that her heart has had any problems since. She contracted a viral infction a few weeks ago which set off a barrel of problems, 30 seizures daily and constant drowsiness. Very worrying.
The cardiologists have done loads of tests and her heart seems to be functioning properly and her ultra sounds and ecg's have been within normal limits. There are more tests to do.We are waiting for results from an EEG which was done in a hospital who have a department who excel in treating children with severe seizure activity. She also had a videofluoroscopy done on Thursday in Belfast which will finally determine if she is ever going to be able to eat or drink anything. It doesn't look good though as most kids with severe C/P don't usually get their swallow reflex back at any stage.
keep her in your prayers people, she's a truly remarkable girl. Here's a few recent pics of our angel.

Wow.....I am sorry that your little one is going through so much. One of good buddy's daughter has a syndrome (charge) and she has a feeding tube. I know that is tough...especially with everything else she has going on.

Glad you checked in. We missed you! Please tell her we are thinking of her. Keep us updated!

Marty,
I will add you and your little Beth to my prayers. Try to not let the stress take you down, I know how hard that is to do.

Poor Marty and Beth,

Hopes and prayers are always with you my friend.  I am sorry I have not been here for you...I have not been completely myself of late.  Love and hugs to your little one - and a big ole bear hug for you!
