Hi All,

Dookie recommended this last week and urged us all to try it. I have a good report. I have been taking one capsule before bedtime for since Friday night of last week. Sat I had a attack, where I was in the bathroom for a hour at Rite Aid. I contribute that to the chix pot pie for lunch and pizza for dinner...too rich for me and I know better. HOWEVER STARTING SATURDAY NIGHT, Sunday night, Monday night too I have had formed stool in the morning, not like the mush I have been experiencing. My formed stool do come with a little liquid, but no blood and I haven't done rectal meds in 2 days. My stools are round balls, but not constipation. I'm using the bathroom only once in the morning. I'm taking only 3-4 colozal a day now too. So far so good.

Truthfully, my stools only changed after starting this probiotic. Remember I'm taking supplements from a Natural path in addition to my medication. My stools were complete mush. They have only changed since taking this probiotic. I'm amazed. In addition to the formed stool, I haven't had any urgency. I'm not thinking about my butt so much either.

I will keep you posted in a week, I'm heading to Florida until next week Tuesday. I will take my bio-pro with me. When I ordered off the enzymedica website, I received 3 DVD about digestive enzyme, which I already have by there company, Digest Gold. I have heard of these products before, I only tried the digestive enzyme not the probiotics. Funny thing is, my girlfriend came over last week and spent the night and she too was taking the same kind. What's good about the probiotics, is they don't have to be refrigerated.

Talk to you soon, thanks dookie, things are looking up.

What is this please? I have never heard of it.

Is it better than VLS#3? I tried that and it did nothing. Where can I get it?

Thanks

I too, tried VSL#3 and it did nothing for me. This is by enzymedica and it's a probiotic. You can go to www.enzymedica.com and order.

I was kinda wondering what happened to the the other post on the Bio-Pro.

Well I bought some on Saturday.  I have taken 3 pills.

I understand what Harpo is saying.

Yes, I am taking a lot of supplements so it may be difficult to say what is really helping.

I have taken a step backwards.  I was bad.  Monday I had a Reese's Peanut Butter cup.  Today I didn't get my morning supplements because a deer decided to hurdle my car and stuck his hooves through my driver side passenger door shattering the window.  My kids were sprayed with glass and had a lot of small cuts.  We ended up calling 911 and going to the hospital to make sure they didn't have glass in their eyes, mouths, and ears.  TALK about STRESS!

After we showered the kids, picked up the car, cleaned it out and took the two oldest to school, I started having left and right side pain.  about an hour ago I had some mucous and blood.   Ugh!

I'll update next week on how the Bio-Pro is going.

Praying for a better day tomorrow.

Snookiebow

Oh no Snookiebow! I am so glad that nothing more serious happened to you and the kids from the deer. I've heard some real horror stories about those kind of incidences. That definately can be stressful.

Harpo,
My sister is helped by VSL#3. Her husband (MD) suggested she and I both try it--he's a family practioner and read about the studies in a medical journal. He's a smart man.

My sister was steriod dependant (couldn't get off of 10 mg a day) and was also taking Colazal. She was helped with the VSL#3 and is urging me to start it again. She's now off all other medications and is regular.

I tried it while in major flare and very sick. I was also on Remicade, 70 mg steriods, rectal meds and Colazal so I wouldn't have known what was working if it helped. Finally, either the Remicade and/or Imuran got me into remission.

I am starting other probiotics now and will give VSL#3 another go to try to stay into remission. I'm on Imuran and Colazal.

My sister is sold on it if that means anything.

I've tried it, it did nothing. It's just overpriced probiotics to me.

Eric704,
Thinking it was also over-priced I asked my local compound pharmacist to provide me an equivalent probiotic. He said that it would cost him too much to make what VSL#3 provides. What most people (like me) miss is that the potency of the VSL#3 is magnitudes higher than other brands I've seen. One packet of VSL#3 contains about 450 billion live cfu (that's equal to a whole 90 pill bottle of a product that has a potency of 5 billion cfu).

Is VSL#3 overpriced, probably. However, find us something less expensive per cfu.

I honestly don't care if it's 800 trillion count. If it does nothing it does nothing.

I'm back from Florida and have been off my medication (colozal and canasa) for 7 days now. I've been on Pro-Bio for 12 days. When I started Pro-Bio my bleeding stopped. I don't have any blood. I still have urgency and diarreah, both are ok to live with for now. I met with my NP (natrualpath) yesterday, it's been one month on his supplements. I had my doses changed, but not the supplements themselves. For me, he says it's a bacteria that is giving me the UC symptoms.

I know that Pro-Bio has helped 100%.I felt the difference right away! My NP approves of me taking the Pro-Bio. I'm sticking with the NP b/c he swears b/c of the alfalfa sprouts I ate and got so deathly sick on that I ate someone's poop basically and we're killing a ecoli strain in my gut. This doctor has been referred to me 4 different times by 4 differernt people. He councels Red Wing hockey players and other "stars". That doesn't matter, I'm just letting you know that he has a wide arrange of clients that comes to him. He's been in practice for 28 years. He's a Doctor of Chiropractic and Naturalpath. I'm not plugging him, but I wanted to let you know I've gone farther with him in one month than with Dr. Dahlman over a year and I didn't have to change my diet; no glute and no dairy is what I'm referring to. I haven't even done a blood test or allergy test, bacteria test or yeast, or parasite which I did with Dr. Dahlman and it was very, very, very, very expensive!!!

Being on no medication, I feel good. Trust me it was hard to quit, I did it on my own at no recommedations of any others.  I have a lot of energy and the dizzyness has subsided greatly. I will post again in one month that will be my second appt with my NP Doctor, it will be 60 days since being on his supplements.

Stool will be once in the morning, followed by after eating breakfast, lunch and dinner diarreah (not a lot) or maybe whitish liquid. Sorry to be graphic. My doc says the whitish is infection coming out. He also said taking immodium hold in the bacteria. I know a lot of people only go to MD's, I'm open to both, so what I may write some folks might not agree with, I'm justing sharing what I'm experiencing with my doctors.

Acutually his card reads D.C., N.D., Ph.D

Every day though I'm seeing improvement. I ate lunch 2 hours ago and have not gone to the bathroom. One day at time. I'm willing most things and this has help. Being on the medicine I was having bloody diarreah, tiredness, weakness and dizzyness plus the dry skin patch on my face. What really is worse the side effects or being off meds, no blood, and dealing with a little diarreah.

He's not an MD though... be careful. You can have a PHD in custodial engineering (being a janitor) if the local community college offers it..

Ever think maybe your D is white b/c of your "natural" supplements? I've never heard of pooping out white stuff as "infection coming out." Just a thought, but of course I'm not a doctor.

It reminds me of the sleazy guy who does infomercials on tv for a colon cleanse that always brings up the myth that we all (presumably people w/o any bowel diseases) have pounds and pounds of poop backed up in our systems and when it all comes out after using his product we will have this black slimey stuff come out. Well, I've been totally cleaned out many times now and have never had black stuff come out, so I'm pretty convinced his product makes the stool black. Sorry...that guy just really annoys me!

Results. The clinical activity, endoscopic and histological scores in the treatment group decreased significantly at 3-5 and 12 14 months after the end of treatment compared with those in the control group (p = 0.001-0.036). The remission rate in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (p =0.037).

It appears that 3-5 months after the treatment things where getting better. I am thinking that you might want to give it some more time.
