A couple months ago, I broke down and finally had some allergy testing (RAST - blood).  The doc called me back a week later and said that everything came back normal.  Which I know can't be true because I have had allery attacks since my early 20's from mold/mildew, pollen and certain weeds.  I have been off and on allergy meds almost my whole adult life.  So today I went in for my flu shot and to get some different allergy meds because the ones I am using isn't working that great.  So I asked the doc if the reason my allergy tests came out negative was due to the fact that I'm on 6mp.  For, those that don't know, allergy tests are based on the immune response to certain allergens.  And she just looked at me, scratched her head and said that she truly doesn't have the answer for that question.  So I thought I would come on here and ask, has anyone had allergy testing while taking 6mp/Imuran which ever showed a positive result?  I guess I could always see an allergist but if he/she was to do the testing then it's probably going to have the same results.

Sherry

I noticed that my allergies went away (or I don't notice them any more) since I started 6-mp. I guess that doesn't help answer your question.

I had my blood tested for wheat allergies and it came back negative; I wonder if I really allergic to Wheat or not. Or it is just the 6mp that made the test negative. (physically I don't think that am allergic to wheat)

My allergies have lessened but I still have them :( This fall is proving to be a bit of a challenge! I see my GI in a couple weeks so I may ask him too.
