Has anyone tried Ultimate Flora critical care probiotics

Hi everyone,

I just came back from Whole Foods and picked some enteric coated probiotics--Ultimate Flora Critical Care.  I have tried the VSL 3 and Culturelle powders.  I get a lot of bloating from them, as well as looser stools.  I thought that I would try enteric capsules that are not as potent for a trial.  One capsule has around 50 billion cultures.  I would love to hear from anyone who has had any experience with these.

These were the first probiotics that I ever tried. I felt they helped me, but not really sure if it was them or my meds as I had just been diagnosed. They didn't cause any negative effects...I didn't have any bloating or looser stools or anything. I took them b/c they have more cultures than most of the probiotics out there, but they were really expensive at the local health food store ($36/30-pill bottle) so I switched to a different probiotic. Make sure you keep them refridgerated.

p.s. - I forgot to mention I took them once a day before bed...not sure that the time of day matters, but the bottle said to take between meals.

The bloating could have been caused by some of the bad bacteria dying off. I can't think of the name right now, but it is a reaction that makes the condition appear worse and should only last a short while (should be a couple days or as long as a week). However, the best remedy, as you appear to be doing, is to reduce the amount you intake and work your way up. Let us know how that product works for you.
