Hello, Dear Ones, I've been lurking, but not posting lately.
I believe I had some gum loss last year when I was on Pred. I now have what my dentist calls a 'food trap' between my upper back teeth, in such a way that floss can't get at it. She recommended an antibiotic chip to be inserted just under the gumline, to keep nasty, gum eating bacteria away. She had previously suggested I use a mouthwash to kill germs. I wondered if the bacteria in our mouths were needed in the gut, and if it would be bad to kill them off. I know antibiotics are bad. I'm wondering if there would be enough antibiotic getting into my gut to be harmful. I've never heard of this type of antibiotic, and havent seen it brought up in these posts. I'll be asking My gastro in Feb. But I thought I'd ask you, (as Jay Severin would say)The best and the brightest.
good news, my hair is coming back!
