Is there anyone out there who has had only proctitis, whether it be sexually transmitted, long term antibiotic use, or radiation therapy that has NOT progressed into a form of UC and was cured from antiobiotic therapy, the 5ASA drugs or whatever.  Just curious. Thanks

Hi..most of us on here have ulcerative colitis or crohn's that has the rectum involved..some with ulcerative proctitis (still UC),

If yours is chronic then there's a chance it is UC or CD anyway...but best to get that clarified. Have a good talk with your doctor and ask him why you're on meds that treat UC (5ASA).

Have you started back on the meds anyway? Did the doctor specify how much of the rectum is involved?
