hair falling out

mostly in the shower, when my hair is wet strands of hair comes out, not like clumps but enough that caught my attention. but i heard its normal, and the avg person loses 200 hairs a day, and i'm not showing signs of losing hair, but its disconcerting

my daughter's hair has been "shedding" pretty bad and a full very thick head of hair is now extremely thin and her doctor thinks it is due to low protein and lack of absorbing minerals/vitamins.  They tell her that it is a symptom of her colon not being well. 

I read also that asacol can have this side effect.

Yeah 200 hairs a day if you count arm hairs and leg hair etc.. 200 a day from the head and you'd be bald fast..

This was happening to me like crazy last summer. My GI tested me and said it was because I was hemmoraging proteins like crazy and basically my body was responding to the malnourishment. A lot of anorexics lose hair for similar reasons. Are you taking really good multivitamins and prescription level iron supplements? They can help.
