I have had this little white bump on my lower eye lid near the tear duct for a little while.  At first it didn't hurt or itch but lately it's been a little itchy (starting to drive me nuts).  I don't think it's a sty since its not red or swollen - it sort of looks like a white head but with a lot of skin over it.  Does anyone know what this could be?

I'm not exactly sure, but it sounds like a sty.  I've gotten them often since I've had UC, and once a couple years ago I had an infected tear duct that actually became so swollen that it appeared outside of the eyelid.  Steroid drops took care of that.  Found out we're more likely to get stys with UC.  Could be something else, but every sty I get looks a little different than the last one.  I simply wash my eyelids at least once a day with soap/water, and since I started doing that, I've noticed a sharp decline in the number of stys that I get.  Of course I'll have to recommend an eye doctor...they can prescribe something to take the swelling down.  The drops I was prescribed were pretty cheap, and worked quickly.

I had a small wart on my eyelid. It was flesh colored though. No itching. Boy I'm no help!

I used to get stys frequently too a few years ago and I had to use eye drops as well. This doesn't exactly look like one - or maybe it's just starting to form? But I can't remember if they ever looked like a white zit before forming or not.

Hi,

I get a bump every few years and the doctor said it's a calcium deposit=s.   The dermatologist gets rid of it.

I get these sometimes. It looks like a zit. It will go away. Mine usually goes away when i wash my face. It takes about a week, but it will go away. Just like a zit, when it comes to a head, it will break.

Great site (little pun) to check out for any eye bumps, etc.

I think what you have is probably milia.
