I was wondering if any of you know if there are any issues with taking other supplements about the same time as you do your prescriptions?

I'm talking about taking a multi & fish oils mainly around the same time as Asacol & Prednisone. Is there a problem with taking them together? Will they all be absorbed as needed? It's nice to take these close together since you should take Pred, fish oils and a multi with food.

I'm also about to add digestive enzymes & probiotics to my daily supplements. I wonder about taking them both together near the same time as well. Both of these should be taken on an empty stomach if I remember right.

Input would be appreciated.

It really depends on what it says on the bottle(s) regarding if it should be taken on an empty stomach or not, some say with food, some without and some it makes no difference...and no it shouldn't matter if you take fish oils at the same time as probiotics...as far as the oral RX I don't know off hand because I don't take any of those.

I take my calcium at least 1 hour before, or after my other meds.  It's my understanding that certain meds/supplements don't allow the calcium to be absorbed as well if taken at the same time.  And as anyone taking prednisone will tell you, we need all the calcium we can get.
