Are any of you on only Remicade now? I'm also taking Colazal and it might be causing my massive hair loss so my GI told me I could stop taking it to see if it stops. Things are going so well now I hate to stop if it's going to throw me into a flare. I used to take Asacol but after a while it caused me to lose hair too so I switched to Colazal. I need to do something or I'm going to be shopping for wigs soon.

I'm on Remicade and Lialda (similar to Colazal and Asacol but just taken once a day). Almost off the Prednisone. The Remicade pretty much does the trick for me but I never seem to feel 100% anymore :-(

I pretty much stopped taking my Colazal and only do the remicade now. So far I've had no problems. I don't know if it's wise to do that, I may regret it later, but for now it seems to be working by itself.

I need the Colazal, Imuran and Remicade working together to keep me in remission. I have been able to drop to six colazal a day, but that's as low as I can get.

I have been off prednisone for three months or so. I was on it for about 14 months - arrghh! But my hair loss started about the same time I started taking azathioprine around December or January. So I was thinking that maybe the hair loss might have been from that but I have been off azathioprine for four months and I'm still losing it. As a sidenote, the azathioprine also made my hair very coarse and kinky. My head looks like a brillo pad, especially if I get caught out in the rain. However, since I got off the azathioprine a couple of inches have grown out, straight and soft. That gives me a little hope.

azathroprine can cause hair loss too. The reason i asked about the pred was usually about three months after ending pred you will notice some hair loss, in my case it was always ALOT. Also usually about three months (your hair grows in three moths cycles) after being very sick you will notice a hair loss. I took azathoprine for years and didnt' have trouble wtih that, but maybe the combo of stuff is causing your problem. hope it gets better!
