I started taking Pro-Bio yesterday and unlike other probiotics I have tried in the past, I didn't have intense gurgling/gas feelings the first day.  Now I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but I was in a mini flare (mostly rectal) after having an endometrial ablation done and having an adverse reaction to the narcotic pain meds.  Then I ended up getting a yeast infection from the antibiotics so I took Diflucan yesterday in addition to my first dose of Pro-Bio. I woke up this morning and had my usual cup(s) of coffee and even though I had to run to the bathroom, this time I actually had an almost full size bm's. And only 1 time as opposed to typical 2 or 3 "small deposits".  Do you suppose that the probiotic is working already???  If so, then heck.....I think I'm gonna stay on this one for the long haul!

It could be working already. When I first started one last year, I did notice a difference within a day or so.

I hope the good poops continue!

It took a good month for my VSL3 to kick in.  What probiotic is this and where are you getting it?

Sure it can work right away, it's different for everyone, we all react differently to the same thing and to different things...I'm glad you've found something that is helping you especially so quickly.

Bob - Sherry has started the Pro-Bio that has been discussed so much lately! It's by Enzymedica I believe. I don't have my bottle nearby. I too have decided to try it. You can get it from their website and iherb I think :)

Anyone else have good experiences with Pro-Bio? I have tried VSL#3 off and on, never really sure if it was having an effect or not...

I've not tried it....seems good stuff in it. The fact that it's stable for 12 months without refrigeration is a good thing.

Keep us posted!

I wasn't sure if it was the probiotic working already or if it was the Diflucan that had made things much better for me. But I had the same thing this morning and I feel awesome (a little tired and sore though from bowling last night!) - I hope it's the Pro-Bio that is helping :)

For what it's worth, some folks have had good experiences with Diflucan, too, in that it works very quickly to get yeast overgrowth in the digestive system under control and helps restore a balanced gut ecology. Since you started both at the same time, I'd tend to suspect the immediate improvement was due to it, rather than the probiotics... or it may have been a combination.

Pro-Bio seems to stop all signs of bleeding immediately for me. When I started my first 30 cap bottle I was blood free the next day. I was late ordering me 2nd bottle and went without for 5 days. Bleeding came back, but stopped again after I started back on the Pro-Bio. I take 4/day on an empty stomach.

I agree Harpo. I tried VSL in the past and even though it seemed to be working for me, I still had the intense gas and gurgling that made me highly uncomfortable so I never made it past the first week. I really should've given it a better go. And I know the labs for VSL have done studies to prove it's effectiveness so it would be nice if Enzymedica did the same thing (unless I missed a study on it?).

I will find out in a few days if it was the Diflucan or the Pro-Bio that was working for me since the Diflucan will be leaving my system soon. So we shall see :)

I basically take 1 cap. every 6 hrs (give or take) as it coincides with an empty stomach. Usually before breakfast, lunch, dinner and bed. I wonder if the enteric coating is what makes the difference......
VSL #3 had absolutely no effect whatsoever. I think I took 4 packs/day for a week or more. It had zero effect.
