okay, i'm finally posting about this because i figure if anyone knows about this, i'll find you here!... i hope.
i reeeally don't want to go to the doc about this because i know it'll just be a cream he gives me and i will have to pay him $70 to tell me what kind.

rash probably started with some drastic cold weather plus stress, i can't think of anything else that changed when i got it.

i have been back to a normal climate for me for a month now and very low stress and still have the rash.

it's red, very itchy with a few bumps at the edges. anus is not irritated but rash is around it and up the crack a ways.

A&D original made it worse.
weleda diaper cream helped some but can't seem to quite get rid of it. been using this for about a week.

do i need to just give it more time? any other ideas?

Sounds like a yeast infection or it could be irritation from rectal meds.If you are not on rectal meds it may be a yeast infection. In the past i have had a lot of red inflammation outside the bum too (where you describe)and it responded well to my proctifoam. i just appklied the foam on the area affected.

yes, could be yeast infection...you can purchase the Canasa external cream from the women's feminine products area of a drugstore. Apply that and see if it helps.

It could also be an allergy to soap or to new products you might be using or even new underwear?

Hope it clears up soon.

thanks!
i tried an anti-fungal cream this morning and the itching is nearly gone. hopefully this will do the trick.

no new soaps, undies, detergents etc so nothing to eliminate there. but thanks for that suggestion.
