I've been doing it maybe twice a day during this flare Im currently having  and it seems to be helping  Im only having 3-4 loose/semi-formed stools per day      normally during a flare I may experience around 10 BMs daily..... Thanks

I'd probably check with your doc to get his opinion.  Some say it is OK, others not.  I think using it sparingly is fine, which is what I do.  Two a day might cause some problems, but I know others who do that and are fine.

I used it a few times, for a wedding, party and a dinner I had to go to. It helped me out during those times, but that was it.

I agree that you should ok this with your doc. But I don't think sporadic use of it will harm much. Of course many docs and literature say not to use it long term or frequently because it can increase the risk of toxic megacolon. I personally can't use the stuff, it gives me the most horrible gut pain in addition to the rebound affect.

It never had much of an effect at all for me during flareups.
