Grrr, I woke up twice last night with them and I get them in my feet too (that would happen sometimes anyway).  Today one of my calves still hurts when I walk on it.

I know I missed eating a few banana's.  I have been taking calcium + vit D 500 mg 3xday, fosomax 70mg 1xweek.

I just started drinking fortified cran/rasp juice that has 430mg of potassium per 8oz serving and having probably 1 to 2 servings a day.  (I add it to my water)

What else can I do?  Please let me know.  I was lax this weekend w/the banana's and juice so mabye that is why????

TIA!

Beth

I would go for runs (or long walks, or elliptical work) when I got the pred leg cramps.

I believe my doc prescribed a potassium supplement when I was on a high dose of pred. May be worth asking about.

Well the first time I was on prednisolone I had those leg cramps continuously and at the time I was eating everything and did not lower my salt intake. However, this time and the time before I lowered my salt intake and have not had a single leg cramp so I wonder if the salt could be the reason. Maybe try lowering your salt intake.

thanks everyone! I did buy some potassium pills but then my ankles swelled up so I stopped just in case that was doing it and I will see my doc next Friday so I will check then. My salt intake has been around 1500mg a day, though I did cheat on Sunday so maybe that could be it. I need to get back into going to the gym and using the treadmill too.
