I have seen different GI for my annoying UC. No docs have done a lab on me. Guys, plese give me some suggestions, tell me what labs I need to rule out some causes. Thank you very much. Your suggests are really appreciated!

Find a new GI that you are more comfortable with....having a good GI and someone that you can work with is very important with UC.

Hi Peter,
Just to clarify... have you had an UC diagnosis confirmed by a colonoscopy? From your signature info, it sounds like you have colitis brought on by antibiotic use, which would be different from ulcerative colitis. (At least, as far as I understand.)
Any good doctor will do a standard blood work -- a CBC -- just to make sure that a patient isn't showing signs of infection, anemia, etc. Stool cultures are also done sometimes to rule out parasites.
When you say "to rule out some causes" are you talking about
ruling out what can cause diarrhea symptoms or what might have caused ulcerative colitis? Sorry, am I being dense here?? The latter-- what causes UC-- is unknown although I'm sure some scientists have theories. As for what else might cause symptoms that would look like UC... hm.. I don't know the answer to that. There are all kinds of parasites I think that can make a person sick in the same way.
Definitely you need a good doctor you can trust to run the right tests and help you feel better. (And stay feeling better!)
