This is kind of a weird thing, I've notice my skin feels really hot at night, kind of uncomfortable.
I don't have a fever, and I don't have night sweats, but it's been going on for a few weeks and it's annoying. Any thoughts on what this might be, or others who have experienced the same thing?
Thanks,
James

No idea what it could be... Sounds pretty uncomfortable though :(

Have you run this past your doc?

I don't have time to write right now...but I have been experiencing the same thing on medications. I will try and write more a little later:)

I get that too where my skin feels super hot so I uncover, cool down, cover back up, repeat all night long. But you're right, it's uncomfortable.

I had some flushing on Asacol but when I started Lialda the intense night sweats started. I feel like a little furnace. My ears turn bright red.

No, I have been having it on and off since I started UC eight years ago.  I thought it was the pred...but now that I am off it - I still have it.  I have been using a cool pak I bought at the medical store - a pad you put in the fridge or freezer, like a heating pad but it is a soft gel that never freezes and stays cold for hours.

I would be interested in hearing what your results are

I call these "hot flashes," and I have been getting them on and off since I was diagnosed with UC. Sometimes, they precipitate a bowel movement, but often they do not. Mine come throughout the day... not just at night. I use a cool pack to help when I am at home. I've asked my GI about this, and he thinks it is mesalamine related.

Thanks everybody, always good to hear I'm not the only one experiencing something :)
I have not tried a heat pack because I don't feel too hot, which I know sounds contradictory.
I just feel kind of uncomfortable, my skin is too hot, so I don't like my arms to be touching me etc. while I try to get comfortable in bed.
I'm hoping maybe I'm just fighting off some little infection or something and that it will pass, I'll let you know!

James,
I experienced the same thing- I had an infection (food poisoning) that brought my flare up on. Now was on Flagyl and the Z-pack antibiotic and thought this had alot to do with it. Then the DR wanted me on an antidepressant (Celexa) both times I took this with the Asacol I was taking I felt like I was on fire!! Talk about hot flashes it was rough. I noticed that with the Celexa vitamins, etc. can interact with this medicine--the DR told me it could be my thyroid also which was going in and out at the time- that could of been that also. I no longer have the intense burning- except my feet at night. I hope you get over this quick!!

for about the past year my feet (especially the bottoms of them) will be burning hot all night long! I have to sleep with them out of the covers and even that doesn't help sometimes. Perhaps it's from the Asacol? I've never made that connection before but it seems like most of the people replying are on it.

I think it's possible that it's from the 5-ASA's in general not just Asacol. I thought mine was due to the fact of my hormones are out of whack - which I guess is still the possibility. But now I think it might just be a combination of things.

Yes I have the same problem and it really does interrupt sleep. I live in New Jersey and it is cool here now and I still have my fan right on me. Even then I put the covers on and off! Weird.

I think many of us get hot easily for some reason.  I'm always burning up, even when I'm not on prednisone.  Doesn't take much to put me in front of the fan for a few minutes to cool down.

I feel heat coming from my gut usually in the evening. Definitely internal, not external. I figure the Predisone's worn off and it's usually not far off from then that I have a BM.

Makes me want to keep my Rowasa in the refrigerator all day. Ah the coolness!!!
