I am tapering my pred dose and started having loose stools at 20mg/day, only 1-3 BMs per day. GI stay at this dose until symptoms change. After 10 days BMs are mostly soft and formed, but started to see bright red blood at the end of the movement and on TP. I only see the blood when I push hard. Could this be hemorrhoids?

Also, I have lost 7lbs in the last 3 weeks at 20mg pred. Is this normal?

Appreciate everyone's thoughts on this.

Thanks

Hi...it could be a fissure that's causing the blood. I can't comment about the pred weight loss...but are you eating enough? If you've changed your diet...one not of high fat or calories, that could be part of the reason.

Normally you would feel a stinging pain if it's a fissure(s) so if you don't then I doubt it's that. It could very well be an internal hemmie, you should see your doc if this is a new symptom.
