Hey everyone,

I haven't posted in a while, and the reason is because I've been feeling great for the first time in several years! In fact, I'm feeling so well that I've decided to run the Miami half-marathon with the Michigan chapter of the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America. I'm super excited and just wanted to let everyone know about it.

I'm in the fundraising process right now, so if you want to help out with a donation please visit my fundraising page at:

Yes, I'm sorry Laura but it is against HW forum rules.  sad However, I received your email and you will be getting a donation from me.  Totally awesome what you are doing!

Wish me luck! I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes. BTW, is there anyone else on here who's also doing the half-marathon?

(Moderators: I'm not sure what the rules are about fundraising on HW so I apologize if this is inappropriate)

I also plan on running this!  I just recently contacted the Dallas chapter but havent heard from them yet.

I love the idea of this fundraiser!  I am very active in Team in Training, which is a similar program to this Team Challenge....but for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  We raise millions and millions of dollars per year from this fundraiser for cancer research and it is about time that the CCFA does something like this to get people involved.  I am so excited and may just have to change my cause! ;)

Anyone training for this in the Dallas area???

PS......I havent posted in ages either and I apologize for that.  I do lurk from time to time to see how everyone is doing though!  :)

Alright! I'm so happy to hear that others are running too. My runs have been going fairly well, and I've been very pleasantly surprised to find that my body is responding well to being pushed. I can comfortably run about 5 miles at this point, so I've got a ways to go, but I have no doubts I"ll be ready when the time comes. We'll all have to meet up at the race in January!

(p.s. Sherry, thanks for the note! I'll talk to you soon)
