When you have diarrhea, food is being sped through your digestive system at an abnormally fast rate and normal digestion and absorption of nutrients is impaired, so it makes sense you would feel hungry and not be able to gain weight. Have you tried l-glutamine to help the diarrhea? You may also want to look into Absorb Plus, an enteral shake mix developed specifically for IBDers. It's basically predigested, so you can quickly absorb the nutrients you need.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999

Therapeutic dose sulfasalazine, back on a pred taper for first flare in years. Down to 10 mg and feeling much better.
Probiotics, l-glutamine and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice and Mucosaheal.
