Is Rowasa the same in generic form?

My GI put me back on Rowasa enemas, but the pharmacy only has the generic.  Is it all the same mesalamine?

Generic is always suppose to be the same as the "real" thing. I'm not sure what the difference is, but I think legally it has to be the same.
dx 4/05 with pancolitis UC after birth of my second child... meds worked randomly
SCD and vit e enema remission for 18 months and had another drug free baby 10/06
Let flare get out of control and even steroids wouldn't work 7/07 - docs wanted surgery
lialda x4 daily and started remicade 10/26/07

I don't do well with the generic. The bottle is bigger, the tip is longer and the bottle is harder to squeeze; therefore getting all the product out is difficult and I've actually jabbed my rectum trying. I hate the generic and it usually doesn't relieve my symptoms like Rowasa. Maybe it is psycological, but I have no other issues with other generic drugs.

When I told my pharmacist this, he said I was not the only one who has complained about the generic brand. And for me, it wasn't worth switching for the measly 20 dollars I saved.

dx Pancolitis, mild, w/more activity on left side & IBS
12 Asacol a day;
1 Rowasa at night during flare/1 a week during remission;
Nexium; Probiotic; Multi-Vitamin; Flax Seed Oil
UC manifesting to other organs: joints, eyes (Iritis) & skin (Erythema Nodusom)
Controlling w/MEDS & DIET (eliminating animal protein, white flour, sugar, dairy, eggs, & nightshade veggies)
Current Status:  Ending 5 month remission w/mini-flare :-(
