It means your rectum is inflamed....ask the doctor to give you some rectal meds ... either a 5ASA or steroid.
They'll help until your body starts producing enough cortisol on its own.
The rectum is the first place to be affected and the last place to heal...on pred or on oral/rectal meds.
When you eat, it will trigger the sigmoid to "download" and if there's anything in the rectum already (inflammation/blood/mucus) it will be pushed out.
Don't wait too long to try the rectal meds.
The suggestion of a fibre supplement will help too...
