hi, my husband went to docs with an itchy anus, was given some proctosydl ointment and e45 cream, he gets it quite often but has not been told what it is, after reading some of the posts on here i am quite concerned that he may have something serious, can anyone tell me if this is how uc starts, its been on and off for months and is really frustrating sometimes when he's scratching while asleep, he has found that if he puts the e45 on before bed each night its not too bad, but i must admit to being worried by not having a diagnosis

Cornish princess - welcome to Healingwell!

The itching sounds like hemmiroids or a skin yeast infection.

UC usually has some change in in bowel movements, including blood, runny poops, abdominal cramping, fatigue, among other symptoms.

I would suggest your husband contact his doctor and ask what they are treating him for.

I hope you find an answer :)
