I guess this is a corticosteroid.  I am wondering if anyone has ever been on this medication.  Did you experience the moon face?  I started on 32 mg and will be tapering down over the course of the month.  I had been dealing with a flare that would not calm down, so this was really the last option.  So far I am thrilled to feel like myslef again, but just wondering what I can expect the side effects to be.
When does moom face begin to kick in.  While on 40 mg of prednisone 10 years ago, I thought it took about two weeks.  I just don't know how the doses compare in the two meidcations.  Thanks for any input.

Diagnosed in April, 1998
Currently on (per day):
Pentasa 4 gms
Imuran - 100 mg
Entocort 3 mg cap

Tara, methylprednisolone will have pretty much the same results as Prednisone. Taking steroids for one month, you may get some fluid retention and weight gain, increased appetite, difficulty sleeping and mood changes. Some people feel irritable, others depressed and still others just feel fuzzy-minded. Moon face takes longer to develop for most people.
Left-sided UC diagnosed 2001.  Taking Colazal and Imuran, Remicade infusions and moving into remission. Finally off steroids after four years!
Now in remission for almost two years. Remicade has been my wonder drug.
