i forgot what the product is called , but i remember taking it to clean out my colon before my 1st colonoscopy..and remember after my 1st bowel movement after using the product (2 days later), it was a nice, normal b.m. that had me feeling like i was healthy again.

i know its not healthy, but maybe in times of flaring, its worth a shot?

The product is called Fleet Phospo Soda. It is bad enough taking this when you have to, why would you want to torture yourself in taking this just to have a formed BM? Have you tried adding fiber to your diet? I am sure there are other ways, than to drink this horrible stuff.
Take care

ditto...it's not something that would be encouraged for UCers.

Find a different product, it wasn't too long ago that they associated ulcerous sores related to prepping with the phospho fleet sodas, so use something eles (only on occassion, making a habit of it will land you worse off than you are now).

actually my best friend had to take the stuff and told me it was a horrible experience, and to sleep on the toilet, but when it was my turn, i had some gas, and a few trips to the toilet, but nothing serious. a good trick is to mix it w/ 7 up and use a straw

but i wasn't implying to use Fleet just for a regular bm, more along the lines of using it to get back onto a good cycle w/ your stomach.

**i remember drinking it the night before and NO food being allowed, I couldn't sleep , I was starvinggggg!

It's a forced pergative...we're all saying it's not a good idea...but we can't stop you from using it.

Fleet is the worst way to do a prep from my experience anyway.

Try changing your diet, take your meds, add a fibre supplement and a probiotic....eat regularly, drinks lots of fluids...that will help get your digestive tract working better.

I guess I still don't connect with your reason why you're wanting to use it...are you saying for occasional use?

Boy, the 2 times I have had to do the prep for a buttoscopy, I used the fleet and the first time it wasn't bad at all, but the 2nd time it did give me nausea and I couldn't do the 2nd half... Thank GOD the 1st half cleaned me out enough and I was able to go through with my procedure... Yucky stuff, but effective.... Petewie....
