Hi

I have recently tapered my pred from 7.5mg to 6mg and now I have developed an extremely itchy rash on my arms.  It is awful. Its so itchy it is keeping me awake at night. My back is itching but I cant see any rash there.

Has anyone else experienced this?  What can I do ease the itching?  Please help!  I am at my wits end!

Thanks

Have you taken a Benadryl? Anything else changed...new laundry detergent? New meds? I think you need to call your doctor.

Also can you limit your signature to 10 lines or less per forum rules? Thanks!

I had a friend that went off Pred (for other health reasons) and she broke into a rash herself. It didn't happen until she started to taper. I agree that first you have to rule out other things such as soap, lotion, foods etc. Benedryl does help but any antihistamine will do also. If the rash continues, you should contact your doctor.

OK, thanks for your tips. I will look into getting some anti-histamines.
