I would really REALLY like some chocolate right now preferably a Snickers bar. I'm on my period which is making this craving worse.

What do I do?

Oh! and those bean & cheese burritos my bf bought are looking really good too.

Eat it and enjoy. I always did. The worst it'll do is make you feel better....
Works for me.

If it were me, I'd have a *little* bit of chocolate! My thinking would be that I'm in a flare anyway, might as well try to have some enjoyment of life. I'd probably avoid eating a whole snickers bar or burritos though - I have repeatedly found out the hard way that (for me) fatty foods don't sit well with a flare! Small amounts of chocolate (especially good quality dark chocolate) don't affect my UC at all - flare or not. But obviously you'll have to keep to what works for you.

A bigger question is what are you doing to treat the flare - is your Asacol dose working?
Left Sided UC
Salofalk tablets (Asacol) 2 tablets 4 times daily (4gm total) for maintenance, Salofalk enemas and/or Colifoam for flares
Oat bran 60grams daily, Metamuscil and multivitamins

Heck yes, eat it! Just be careful what else goes in your gut for a day or two. Usually one little sin when I'm flaring doesn't hurt too much. I wouldn't, however eat both the Snickers and the beans.

Our guts are kind of like a corporation. Everything we eat has a cost-benefit ratio. I always decide if I'm willing to pay the possible cost in exchange for the enjoyment; if the answer is yes, eat it
Moderate to severe left-sided UC diagnosed 2001.
Current meds are Colazal, Azathioprine and Remicade. Completely off steroids for more than a year now! In remission since April, 2006. Remicade has been my wonder drug.
Now tapering Azathioprine, please pray for me.

If it's not going to bother you...eat it.

BUT, if you think the peanuts, chocolate, sugar and fat might worsen your flare...leave it alone...it's all about consequences lol

I'd eat it - well, probably not the WHOLE bar at once - I find half will do for me. I'd cut it in half and eat one half NOW and see how it went... Half might just satisfy that craving :)

ohhhh, aint that the worst! i know it is silly, but i always get granola cravings---which leaves me in the bathroom forever. i do give in, though and it is almost always worth it! what about trying a little bit of the snickers bar--or maybe a hershey's kiss. i'm not a big chocolate fan, so i don't know what satisfies, but i hope you end up with a happy stomach--one way or the other!

I've always let myself have a bit of chocholate or ice cream every few days. I just be really careful how often I eat junk food and I seem to be fine :-)
