Has anyone heard of this company and drug before? This sounds very promising.

I looked the company up. Looks as if they're a brand new company whose drugs are all in the research stage. I hope their IBD research produces new choices for us!

They do have a really good explanation of the process of developing and testing new drugs at this address:

Moderate to severe left-sided UC diagnosed 2001.

Current meds are Colazal, Azathioprine and Remicade. Completely off steroids for more than a year now! In remission since April, 2006. Remicade has been my wonder drug.

Now tapering Azathioprine, please pray for me.

That does sound promising. Sadly, they're only in Phase 1 of the trials. According to the info that Judy linked to, Phase 2 of the clinical trials can take up to 2 years. And then there are still a few more phases...

I wonder if they do their drug testing only in Australia. I wouldn't mind participating in that kind of study... Could be great.

I would give them a call and find out. I tried calling a few moments ago and it went to voicemail. If they are doing testing in the U.S. anytime soon, I would be interested in being a lab rat.

Hope they figure it out before they go bankrupt. Looked up the stock and at first glance it's not pretty. They need a home run!

Very interesting. Am keen to speak with my GI regarding this one as I live in Aus. Might even play lab-rat for this one.

Hey, here's a link to their page to sign up for clinical trials. Looks like they aren't doing UC yet, but you can get on a mailing list:

And no, I don't work for or own stock in Novartis. My friends call me the "Google queen"

Quick update. Spoke to my GI on this one. Phase 2 clinical trials start first half 2008 in Australia.

That's good news. I still don't have any info on when the company might be conducting clinical trials in the U.S. I hope they have plans to do so.
