What does cramping only mean?  It happens in the morning when I wake up but once I have a bm, the cramping stops.  I am having no other symptoms and have been off Colocorts for a week now.  And usually I only go once or twice in the morning now.  I increased my probiotic to 2 a day, could that be the culprit?  I've been on the 2 a day dose for about a week now because even though my symptoms are minimal to nil, it is still not perfect.  But the cramping has been highly noticable for the past 2 days.  Even woke me up this morning.

I was totally normal for a long time.. Except for the darn pain... It set in above my left hip for about a year and then eventually moved to under my left rib area... Not much stops it for me.. Scope just shows spotty inflammation in the aforementioned areas.

Could be the probiotic. I have been doing 1 probiotic a day and a yogurt (since I have been on antibiotics). I definitely have noticed some cramping and lots o' poop this week. Eat anything different?

Harpo, usually the pain is last to go for me too and I do still have sporadic bouts of pain - sort of a searing pinching pain. But it's not constant like in the past. So at least that is getting better!

Tab, no I didn't eat anything different. Just the normal stuff that I usually eat. Maybe I should cut the Pro-bio back down to one you think?

Sherry -- are your stools firmer? Sometimes I get that when I have harder stools, and then after it evacuates I'm feeling much better. I hate it though because it hurts!

No, my stool is firm but not hard. Sort of playdough consitency - hmm not sure if I will play with playdough anymore from that description! :)

Why not cut the probiotic back to 1/day? What's the worst that could happen?

Are you taking the two pro-bio caplets at the same time?

I've been wondering about cramping as well. Except, mine is in the late evening and very low on the left side.

Ah, the "wonders" of this disease!!!

For me, cramping is the first symptom I get to tell me my UC is starting an upward climb toward flare. Hope this isn't the case for you!

I was taking the Pro-bio 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening. But I cut out my evening dose last night to see how it affects me. By taking 2 I believe that it was actually giving me some sort of form to my bm's instead of mush. So we shall see what today holds. It's early yet!
