In our house, my DH referes to my UC as "butt trouble".  We have a 3 year old and when my UC flares, she knows it as "Mommy's butt hurts."  She also knows that I can't eat certain things, etc during a flare as it makes "Mommy's butt hurt worse."
So last night she wanted pizza and I gave in.  She said, "We can order light cheese for you mom."  I told her that she could order it when we got there.  So we sit down and the waitress comes over and sits in our booth (we know them) and my daughter looks at her and says, "We want to order a pizza with light cheese b/c of my mom's butt." tongue
The waitress looks at me with a "What?" look on her face and I just had to shake my head.  But the best part is she said it loud enough for everyone in the restaurant to hear.  I was mortified.
Best Wishes,

My doc told me his young son suffers from occasional Candida issues with resulting itchy rashes. He's teaching his son how it's necessary to change his diet to compensate when he's having a flare up of symptoms, but he can be more lenient when all's going well. So, one evening they're out to dinner and his son tells the waitress, "I think I'll have milk because my bottom doesn't itch." My doc said the waitress shot him a weird look and he just shook his head at her and laughed.

you just have to love the truthfulness at that age. And they love to tell everything they know. Kids can almost alway be good for a laugh. Did you find that hole you wanted to crawl into and hide. My kids are grown now, but in there younger days I never knew what was going to come out of there mouth next. I was in wal-mart today and had to go to the restroom, of coarse, while in there I heard this little but very loud voice holler mommy you stink. and while washing my hands the mother and little girl of about 3 comes out and the mothers face couldnt have been any redder. I had to turn my head to keep from laughing, because I could hear the mother in there going sssshhhhh, ssshhhhhh, and the little girl just kept on talking.

Heeheehee! Kids are so funny! My cousin's daughter at age 3 came out with a loud Hungarian expletive in a restaurant one evening. (Where she had picked it up was somewhat of a mystery!) A waiter nearby immediately dropped a full tray of dishes he had been carrying. Turned out that he was a native Hungarian working in an American family-style restaurant in Los Angeles. / Old Hat

I can tell you another: one Sunday morning yrs back I was at Mass holding on to my 3 yr-old godson while his mom watched over his twin brother. They were both pretty well-behaved. Then the priest brought out the chalice for communion & twin brother YELLED at the top of his lungs: "PepsiCola! PepsiCola!" Well, the entire parish (ca. 250 people) roared with laughter, the twins' mom turned beet red, & I thanked my lucky stars that I'd been holding the quiet twin. We never figured out where the "PepsiCola" idea came from-- because these little guys were never given soft drinks at home. / Old Hat
