Has any one tried this product? If yes, did you have success?
Left-sided colitis diagnosed at age 28 in 2001
Asacol 3 pills 3 times per day
Hydrocortisone Enema as needed
Probotic taken Daily

I have used this probiotic for about a year now and it has helped me tremendously. I generally take 2 a day but since getting to remission I sometimes just take one. Hope it works for you!

- 29 y/o single IT professional male residing in Northern VA, USA
- UC Diagnosis - April, 2006 - Symptoms were sudden and drastic
- GI did not determine type of UC as I was too inflamed during the c-scope
- Completed 3rd Prednisone taper on 4/13/07 - Tapered from early January through mid-April after being hospitalized from a bad flare with anemia & severe joint pain.
- Currently in remission and enjoying life again since getting out of the hospital in early Jan 07' from a nasty flare
- Survive on 4 Colazal/day, 1 GNC Multivitamin, occassional Fish oil & Primal Defense Probiotics
- Enjoy the outdoors, relaxing and spending time with family and friends

Thank you for your response! I will try it then. Did it help you get into remission at all?

As there seems to be so many factors with this disease to consider I can not say for sure, but yes I believe it did help me achieve and now maintain a remission state. As with the maintenance meds I would not go without the probiotic supplement as I think they are crucial for staying in remission.

It seemed to help me initially - for the first week or two - then my symptoms got worse. I had to quit taking it. A blend of probiotics that aren't soil based organisms works better for me.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999
 
Therapeutic dose sulfasalazine. Off the pred and doing well.
Probiotics, l-glutamine and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice and Mucosaheal.

It seemed to help me
Pancolitis dx'd 1986, full med-free remission 88-97
Flaring or simmering on and off ever since
10 20 17.5 15 12.5 10 mg 8 mg pred, 100 mg Imuran
Probiotics (Primal Defense and others), TSO
Turmeric/circumin, fish oil, many vits/minerals
Lower-carb version of Specific Carb Diet (SCD)
